
Mechanical/Mechanism Design Engineer Intern

About the Role:
As a Mechanical/Mechanism Design Engineer Intern, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and mechanisms for our robotics platform. You will collaborate closely with Electrical Engineers, Product Managers, and Industrial Designers to create robust, functional, and aesthetically pleasing products. This role demands a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in 3D modeling software, and a passion for creating high-quality designs.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or related fields (manufacturing engineering, design engineering).

Have a good mindset of using 3D tools (CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD) (Knowledge of Surface is preferred).

Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, kinematics, machine design, and manufacturing processes

Deep understanding of mechanism, deep understanding of Dynamics/Kinematics, linkage/join, CAM mechanism, and other mechanical elements.

Familiarity with design-related subjects such as Machine Principles, Machine Details, Mechanics of Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, Tolerances, and Measuring Methods,... (Univiersity subjects).

Good written communication skills, good critical thinking and logic skills; ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues in related fields.

Fundamental principles of Mathematics, Statistics and/or Physics

Ability to work in teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop 3D models for concept exploration, prototyping, and functional appearance models using CAD software (CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD). Surface modeling experience is highly desirable.

Create and assemble functional prototypes to validate designs and explore different mechanical solutions.

Contribute to R&D initiatives by researching and developing innovative mechanisms and mechanical systems for new products.

Participate in cross-functional design reviews, ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) and other relevant considerations (DFX).

Collaborate effectively with team members across disciplines to achieve project objectives.

Conduct analyses and simulations to evaluate the performance and reliability of mechanical designs.

Document design processes, calculations, and test results clearly and concisely.

Apply fundamental principles of mathematics, statistics, and physics to engineering challenges.

Create product prototypes.

Support R&D initiatives about new products, prototype and finalize designs
